Wolfgang Lukschy

Wolfgang Lukschy (born 19 October 1905 in Berlin, † July 10, 1983 ) was a German stage and film actor and busy voice actor. Wolfgang Lukschys son Stefan ( b. 1948 ) has worked as a director.

Life

Wolfgang Lukschy initially worked for several years in his apprenticeship as a process engraver, and later as a movie copier. At age 23, he took acting lessons in 1928 with Paul Bildt and was soon engagements at various stages in Germany. In addition to the Berlin Volksbühne he performed including Stuttgart, Würzburg, Munich and Hanover until he returned to Berlin at the Schiller Theatre eleven years later. In 1940 he played his first film role in Friedrich Schiller - Triumph of a genius, but few other roles should follow to the end of the war. Lukschy embodied at this time the gallant lover and reached in the Revue film The woman of my dreams on the side of Marika Rokk initially the height of his popularity.

After the Second World War, Lukschy operated as a director and was still in the theater and at the German Film AG ( DEFA ) is active. At the theater he acted about 500 times in the role of Professor Higgins in the musical My Fair Lady, the movie he starred alongside Petra Peters, Tilly Lauenstein, Walter Gross and Karin Jacobsen several leading roles. In the 1960s he starred in Edgar Wallace and Karl May movies. Even in international films such as The Longest Day (1962 ) or for a handful of dollars (1964 ) one could see him. In his film roles, he presented now mostly shady characters represent the conceal their excessive ambition or their questionable past behind outward correctness. On television Lukschy played in the crime series Tatort and other television dramas.

One of Lukschys main activities was always syncing: James Mason, Walter Matthau, Stewart Granger, Gregory Peck, John Wayne and others spoke in German movie theaters often with his voice. In the film The Third Man ( The Third Man) ( dubbed version of 1949) he borrowed Joseph Cotten for the role of Holly Martins his voice, in twelve clock noon ( High Noon ) ( dubbed version of 1953) Gary Cooper as Town Marshal Will Kane. His tomb is located in the forest cemetery Dahlem in Berlin in the Dept. 1B- sixth
