Wolfgang Peukert

Wolfgang Peukert ( born June 9, 1958 in Karlsruhe, Germany ) is a German chemical engineers.

Life

Wolfgang Peukert studied chemical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and in 1990 received his doctorate in packed bed filters at the Institute of Mechanical Process Engineering with the theme The combined deposition of particles and gases. After seven years in the development department of the Japanese Hosokawa Group 1998 when he was a full professor of Chemical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. He moved in 2003 to the Chair of solids and Interfacial Engineering at the Friedrich- Alexander -University Erlangen -Nuremberg.

Wolfgang Peukert is married and has a son.

Work

Peukert works in subdivision particle engineering process engineering. In this section he examines the influence of particle properties on the properties of dispersed systems, that is, he explores the basics in order to selectively develop new materials in accordance with the technical specifications can. He mainly studied particles with sizes in the submicrometer and nanometer range, in which the surface properties have a greater impact than the bulk properties. His results in this area have been awarded the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize 2005.
