Wolfgang Schulhoff

Wolfgang Schulhoff ( born December 14, 1939 in Dusseldorf, † February 17, 2014 ) was a German politician ( CDU), Member of the German Bundestag and until his death, President of the Chamber of Dusseldorf.

Education and work

After graduation in 1959 Schulhoff did an apprenticeship as a plumber and then studied economics at the University of Cologne. In 1965 he completed his studies with a diploma examination.

Later he became a managing partner in his father George, the company Dipl. -Ing company. G. Schulhoff, and at the Schulhoff planning engineer GmbH.

Wolfgang Schulhoff was Protestant, married and had two children. He died on February 17, 2014 at the age of 74 years in Dusseldorf from cancer.

Policy

Wolfgang Schulhoff was since 1959 a member of the CDU and was there from 1989 to 2003 Chairman of the CDU Dusseldorf. Since 1968 he was in local politics as a member of citizenship, from 1969 to 1983 as a member of the City Council Dusseldorf active. Between 1977 and 1983 he was Deputy Chairman of the CDU faction in Dusseldorf.

From 1983 to 2002 he was a member of the Bundestag. He retired in 1983, 1987.1990 and 1994 as a directly elected representative of the constituency Dusseldorf I, and in 1998 over the national list North Rhine-Westphalia in the Bundestag. In the Bundestag, he was a member of the Finance Committee and chairman of his party in the committee of Posts and Telecommunications.

Other offices

1971-1983 Schulhoff was active as a volunteer financial judges. In the 80 years he was a deputy member of the Advisory Committee at the Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications and Posts.

Since the mid- 90s Schulhoff supported the Mittweida. He was a member, honorary professor and later chairman of the board of trustees of the university.

Schulhoff was chairman of the Arts Council Hombroich. Many years he was deputy chairman of Messe Dusseldorf GmbH.

Since 1 January 2003, he was president of the Chamber of Dusseldorf, since January 1, 2005, he was also president of the North Rhine -Westphalian craft day ( NWHT ). From 2005 until his death he was chairman of the board ' Handwerksbau Niederrhein AG '.

Honors

Schulhoff was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class and 2007 with the Great Cross of Merit. In 2012 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of NRW, in July 2013 the Polish Golden Cross of Merit.
