Wolfgang Steinbach

Wolfgang " Maxes " Steinbach ( born September 21, 1954 in Nice (Elbe ) ) is a former German football player and current football coach. He played from 1971 to June 1987 and again in the 1989/90 season at the 1 FC Magdeburg in the midfield. In 2006 he was elected to a telephone vote of the fans of the 1st FC Magdeburg "Best FCM player of all time ".

Career

Wolfgang Steinbach began playing football in his hometown Beautiful (Elbe ) in the BSG Chemie Beautiful Beck. At the age of 14, he moved to the youth of the 1st FC Magdeburg.

His first try in the first men's team had Steinbach in the 1971 season / 72nd But in the first league season of Magdeburg remained when used. Also in the 1973/74 season he was one of six missions in the squad of champion team. His breakthrough was the only 1.65 m wide Wolfgang Steinbach in the season 1974/75 when he scored 2 goals in 17 games and thus established in the core team.
