Wolfgang Wahlster

Wolfgang Wahlster ( born February 2, 1953 in Saarbrücken ) is a German computer scientist.

Wahlster holds a chair at the Saarland University, majoring in computer science, where he teaches in the areas of artificial intelligence and computational linguistics and research. One of his focuses Intelligent User Interfaces.

In addition to his teaching and research activities, he is Chairman of the Board and technical- scientific director of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence - DFKI GmbH and Member of the Supervisory Board of CELCT Società consortile a responsabilità limitata and Sensitec.

He received his diploma in computer science and Theoretical Linguistics in 1977 from the University of Hamburg and received his PhD in 1981 just there.

Wahlster is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences since 2003 ( Kungliga Academy of Engineering ), which provides, among other things, the Committee for the award of the Nobel Prizes in physics and chemistry.
