Wolfgang Winkler

Wolfgang Winkler ( born October 27, 1940 in Tegernsee ) is a former German luger who was third in 1968 Olympics in doubles.

Wolfgang Winkler started for the toboggan club Rottach -Egern. His first league titles he won with L. Eham 1961, 1964, he won together with Hans Plenk. 1966 Winkler reached his only national title in the recliner, in doubles, he won in 1966 and 1967 together with Fritz Nachman. At the 1968 Olympic Games Winkler took on the single-seater eleventh place. Together with Fritz Nachman he won the bronze medal in the doubles. Four years later, Winkler also launched at the Olympic Games in 1972 and finished second in the individual standings to 15th place.
