Wolfram Burgard

Wolfram Burgard ( born February 8, 1961 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German scientist of computer science and robotics. He is a professor at the Albert- Ludwigs- University of Freiburg, where he has charge of the working group for Autonomous Intelligent Systems at the Institute for computer science. He is best known for his contributions to autonomous robotics, in particular for SLAM problem.

In March 2009, Burgard has been awarded by the German Research Foundation with the Leibniz Prize.
