Wolfsberg District

The district Wolfsberg is an administrative district of the Austrian federal state of Carinthia. The total area is 973.79 km ².

Geography

The district lies to the east of Carinthia 's Lavant Valley in the region of Lower Carinthia; Koralpe and Packalpe form the border to Styria. The district Wolfsberg is crossed by the River Lavant, which flows near Lavamünd in the Drava. The lower part of the district is nestled between cliff zone and Saualpe. The upper part of the district lies between the Packalpe and Seetaler Alps and bordered to the north Obdacher saddle.

The district Wolfsberg is divided into nine municipalities, including three cities and four market towns. In parentheses are the numbers of inhabitants from 1 January 2013.
