The Wolgan River is a small river in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales. It arises from the Wolgan River West Branch and the Wolgan River East Branch in the Gardens of Stone National Park at 558 m. From there, the river flows to the east, where it passes through the former mining town of Newnes in the Wollemi National Park. Finally it flows approximately 40 km to 178 m altitude in the Capertee River, a source river of the Colo River.

The tributaries of the Wolgan River are the Annie Rowan Creek, Rocky Creek and the Carne Creek.
