Wolin National Park

Wolin National Park (Polish Woliński Park Narodowy ) is a national park in Poland, which is situated on the Oder estuary in the north-western part of Poland, near the German -Polish border. The eponymous island of Wolin on which the National Park is located, is Poland's largest island. Founded in 1960, the park in 1996 has been extended to the islands in Swinedelta. Furthermore, parts of the Baltic Sea ( beach and sea areas ) east of the city Międzyzdroje ( Misdroy ) have been added.

Generally

Through the National Park of extremely valuable, northwestern part of the island of Wolin is protected. Since the park area includes a part of the Pomeranian Bay and Szczecin Lagoon, is at the Wolin National Park is the first marine park in Poland. The landscape of the national park is extremely varied. The characteristic element is one, about 15 km and expanding to 95 m high cliff. Flora

The Wolin Island is home to over 1300 species of vascular plants. Include a number of rare and protected species. Fauna

Memorial stones
