Wolverton [ wʊlvətən ] is a city in the north of the Borough of Milton Keynes, which formed the northern part of Buckinghamshire until 1997. The city lies between Stony Stratford and Newport Pagnell and one 13,546 inhabitants (as of 2001).

Wolverton was mentioned by 1086 as Wluerintone in the Domesday Book. It was located on the site of the present Old Wolverton, northwest of the present town. However, nothing has been preserved of the medieval village; at the site of the Norman castle, which was built as a moth, now occupied by the Church of the Holy Trinity, stands next to a 1729 built rectory.

Wolverton is located on the Grand Union Canal. More important was the 1838 finished rail connection on the railway line London - Birmingham, where Wolverton received a locomotive and repair workshop.
