Women's List

The woman Alliance ( Isl Samtök to kvennalista, often Kvennalistinn; German Frau list) was an Icelandic woman party.

History

It was founded in 1983 and moved in the elections in the same year in the national parliament Althingi, where they remained until the merger with other parties of the political left to the new alliance Samfylkingin in 1999. Some, however, were not in agreement with this merger and changed the Left-Green Movement ( Vinstri hreyfing - Grænt framboð ).

The woman Alliance was the first feminist party that was elected to a national parliament and remained there throughout. It also acts as among the parties feminist world a special place.
