Woodland trust

The Woodland Trust is a British non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the preservation of forest areas in the United Kingdom. In 2006, the organization was founded in 1972 over 1000 forests under management to more than 20,000 ha private or leased land. In the same year 160,000 members were counted.

The focus of activities is on the protection of old forests that have never been cultivated by humans. From this forest in England there are only 194,000 ha, 27,000 ha and 65,000 ha in Wales in Scotland.

In addition, the Woodland Trust promotes biodiversity, planting and reforestation original forest landscapes and projects that contribute to a deeper understanding of flora and fauna in the forests.
