The Woodswallows ( Artamus ) are a genus in the order of perching birds ( Passeriformes ).

The distribution area extends from Australia, New Guinea, Philippines to the Indian and Southern China. In the latter there are the breeding sites of some species. Woodswallows have two special features. You are the only songbirds about Puderdunen and have the ability to let kreiselnd wear thermals upward. Their prey, which consists mainly of insects, they espy out of a wait. They have a very graceful and agile flight. The small body is stocky and their wings are pointed and long.
