Woodward County is a county located in the state of Oklahoma in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Woodward.

Geography

The County is located in northwestern Oklahoma, is in the north about 30 miles from Kansas, and to the west about 35 miles from Texas and has an area of ​​3227 square kilometers, of which 10 square kilometers are water surface. History

Woodward County was formed in 1893 as an original county of Cherokee country. It was named after a station on the Santa Fe Railway Company, after one of their directors, BW Woodward was named. The County ( Oklahoma Land Run ) was settled by white settlers during the fourth official land ownership acquisition of 16 September 1893.
