Woody Woodpecker

Woody Woodpecker ( in English formerly Hacky the woodpecker ) is a comic book character, created by Walter Lantz.

The figure is a Pileated Woodpecker, which is particularly noticeable by its obtrusive to crazy appearance and its distinctive laugh. Woody Woodpecker originally had blue feathers, a red belly and two teeth in its beak. In the 1940s, he received his final appearance with red feathers, white belly and a beak with no teeth.

Publication

The cartoons with Woody Woodpecker were produced by the Walter Lantz animation studio - and released by Universal Studios from 25 November 1940 the last was produced in 1972. In 1957, the films were shown on television.

The first film, occurred in the Woodpecker was Knock, Knock, in which he has not yet played the lead role. But he soon became popular. 1944, the figure in The Barber of Seville was further elaborated.
