Word Association

A chain of associations is a sequence ( chain formation ) of units, consisting of conventional words or even whole sentences. It is also possible to create chains of association of images, but this is not often practiced.

The members in each case form an association with the preceding. Thus, a chain of association has no end and can be continued arbitrarily. Because of the links that each human being produces with certain elements in his brain, an association can not be described as right or wrong, because usually this is done by experiences in the past or arise in the unconscious, so that the connection can not be rationally justified.
