Word list of the Dutch language

The Nederlandse Taal Woordenlijst ( dictionary Dutch language ), often the Groene Boekje because of the green envelope: appointed ( German Green Book), is a directory ( orthographic dictionary ) of Dutch words in the official officially established spelling. It is published by the Dutch Language Union ( Dutch Language Union ).

The first Woordenlijst 1954 written on behalf of the Dutch and the Belgian Government. Revisions were made in 1995 and most recently in 2005. Today there are also a CD- ROM, and even a free online edition of the Green booklet.

The spelling of words in the directory is mandatory for authorities and schools in the Dutch -speaking countries (the Netherlands, Belgium and Suriname), after Suriname also joined the Dutch Language Union on 12 December 2003.

In the 2005 edition, however, only about 500 Suriname - Dutch words have been added.
