Workers' Communist Party (Italy)

The Partito Comunista dei Lavoratori ( German: Communist Party of the Workers ), abbreviated as PCL, was formed in 2006 from a Trotskyist faction of the Italian party Refoundation. The spin-off was done under the leadership of Marco Ferrando, the current chairman of the party.

Election results

In the municipal elections of May 2007, the party was in most cities, where was chosen to achieve the necessary signatures for approval to the elections. Average received the PCL 0.76 % of the vote. Specific results are as follows:

In the parliamentary elections in April 2008, the party received a moderate, according to the spokesman of the party but encouraging result with 0.57 % ( 208 394 votes) for the Chamber of Deputies and 0.55 % ( 180 454 votes) for the Senate. In both chambers, the party is not represented because of the restrictive clause and the lack of electoral alliance.
