Workers' Defence Committee

The Committee for the Defense of Workers (Polish Komitet Obrony Robotników, abbreviated KOR) was a group of Polish civil rights movement. It originated as a reaction to repression of intellectuals of governance against the participants in workers' protests in 1976. The main objective was to provide financial support and the provision of legal assistance for persecuted workers. She was one of the nuclei of the trade union movement "Solidarity".

Among the founders of KOR were also Jacek Kuroń, the future labor and social affairs minister of Poland, a close associate of Lech Wałęsa, and the author Jerzy Andrzejewski.
