Workers Viewpoint

The League of Socialist Revolution ( LSR ) is a Trotskyist internationalist organization. It forms the Austrian section of the League for the Fifth International. They existed since the 1980s under the name of workers standpoint ( Ast ) and renamed in October 2007 to its present name in order.

Political positions

The goal of the revolutionary LSR is the overthrow of the present-day state systems through a revolution and the establishment of a " socialist Soviet Republic " in order to achieve a classless society, but this form of government should be democratic, so the LSR also rejects the totalitarian socialist realism of the Eastern Bloc countries. This revolution should vonstattengehen world, so that the LSR applies its commitment both to Austria and to the rest of the world. She is also involved in the trade unions. The LSR was part of the Left Party during their candidacy to the Austrian National Council elections in 2008.

Organization

Although the LSR has a small number of members, she takes part in most demonstrations of the Vienna left. The LSR is financed by newspaper sales and donations. The LSR brings three publications: the monthly newspaper LIBERATION and, together with the German group workers' power, the theoretical organ of revolutionary Marxism and the theoretical journal Under the banner of the revolution. The youth organization with which the LSR cooperates closely to REVOLUTION calls.

7Stern disorder an event at Café

On March 9, 2005, a group of LSR members bothered (then workers standpoint ) an event on "Iran and the Bomb " in the left Cultural Café 7Stern, which was convened by the Alliance " Stop the Bomb ". It was a visitor, Mary Kreutzer, hurt by Michael Pröbsting, one of the then Speaker of the LSR. In March of the following year Pröbsting has been convicted of assaulting Kreutzer.
