Discussion Papers are usually multi-page publications of scientists who - do not appear in journals or books, but as the project's own publications on their own - - as opposed to articles in journals disseminated, for example via the Internet - virtually in the " self-published ". Often there are also professionally made ​​eg bound or stapled copies that are sent in parallel for distribution via the Internet directly, for example to colleagues. Colleagues will be called with the discussion papers to comment on this and give as the authors further suggestions and these point out errors or discrepancies in the discussion papers.
