World AIDS Day

The World AIDS Day is held annually by the UNAIDS - organized and will take place on December 1 - the United Nations AIDS organization.

History

The World AIDS Day was first proclaimed in 1988 by the WHO and made from the very beginning under a special motto on which the activities of the AIDS organizations to navigate through the different countries. World AIDS Day is organized by the UNAIDS since 1996.

Around the globe, remember December 1, a variety of organizations in the AIDS issue and call on you to take action and to show solidarity with HIV -infected patients, AIDS sufferers and their loved ones. The World AIDS Day also serves responsible for politics, mass media, business and society - worldwide as well as in Europe and Germany - to remind you that the HIV-/AIDS-Pandemie persists.

For the years 2005 to 2010 was the international World AIDS Day slogan " Stop AIDS: Keep the Promise". There should politician in the world remember her at the Special Session of the United Nations on HIV / AIDS in June 2001 promise made as internationally more involved nationally in the fight against global HIV-/AIDS-Pandemie.

World AIDS Day in Germany

The Federal Centre for Health Education ( BZgA), the German AIDS-Hilfe (DAH ) and the German AIDS Foundation (DAS) as part of their joint World AIDS Day campaign, the international motto " Together against AIDS: We take responsibility - for ourselves and others "translated. On 1 December 2013, the longest 1.5 kilometers AIDS ribbon in the world was around the Regensburg Cathedral designed. This had previously been knitted in pieces of volunteers from all over Germany and even from Greece of red wool.
