World Beer Cup

The World Beer Cup is one of the largest beer competitions. It is organized by the Association of Brewers, the merger of small and medium-sized breweries in the United States every two years.

On the first competition in 1996 in Vail (Colorado), over 600 beers from 250 breweries participate. In 2006, 540 breweries from 56 countries participated with a total of 2,211 beers.

The Awards are presented in 85 individual categories and the winners (based on category ) won a gold, silver or bronze medal. Certain minimum standards can not be achieved unless in a category, no medals or not, for example gold medal will be awarded if necessary.
