World Chess Championship 2014

The World Chess Cup 2014 is scheduled to be held from 6 to 25 November 2014 duel between defending champion Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand as the challenger. The bid to host was originally announced on January 10, 2014 with a deadline of March 10, 2014 which was later extended to 30 April 2014.

Candidates tournament

In the candidates tournament, which until March 30, 2014 took place from 12th in Khanty-Mansiysk, eight player double round any sense in the fight against everyone.

Participants were: Viswanathan Anand ( former world champion ), Vladimir Kramnik and Dmitry Andreikin ( qualified by the World Chess Cup 2013 ), Vesselin Topalov and Şəhriyar Məmmədyarov ( qualified via the FIDE Grand Prix 2012-2013), Levon Aronian and Sergey Karjakin ( qualified nominated on the world rankings ) and Pyotr Svidler ( the organizer ). After 13 of 14 laps led Anand unassailable eight points and qualified end up with 8.5 points out of 14 games for a rematch against Carlsen.
