World Confederation of Labour

World Confederation of Labour WCL (World Confederation of Labour ( WCL ) and the Confédération mondiale du Travail (CMT ) ) was an international trade union organization.

The WCL had 144 member organizations in 116 countries with 26 million individual members, mainly in developing countries. Its predecessor was until 1968 the International Federation of Christian Trade Unions ( IFCTU ), which was created in 1920 from the International Secretariat of Christian Trade Unions. The Secretariat was established in 1908.

The merger of WCL and the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU ) fell on November 1, 2006 in Vienna, the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) out.
