World Habitat Awards

The World Habitat Awards were established in 1985 by the Building and Social Housing Foundation to life - as a contribution to the United Nations as the International Year of the houses for the homeless in 1987.

Every year, twice, five finalists will be chosen and awarded under these two prices, one for one of the South and one for a project of the North, where the boundaries of geography less than the level of development of each country corresponds. Project The submissions will be reviewed by an international panel of experts, the prices are endowed with £ 10,000 and every year on the first Monday in October, solemnly presented on World Habitat Day.
