World Cup Review

Took place in 1999 first attempts to introduce a race series with the same scoring system and unified rules. The Cup was under the leadership of the European Association Confédération Européenne de Skates Roller Skating ( CERS). The company Play Life was the main sponsor of the Cup.

2000 was the real beginning of the Grand Prix. The eight largest competitions in Europe were part of the Cup.

2001 joined the Cup together with the World Federation of FIRS and the Comité international de course (CIC). From this time the Cup was represented with competitions worldwide. The three rating categories Grand Prix, Class 1 and Class 2 were created.

2003 Iguana Think Tank AG took over the organization. Iguana by Coni Altherr had great experiences already with the Swiss Inline Cup. The Cup was renamed the World Inline Cup, and the mascot, the Megachiroptera, since then represents the international inline speed skaters movement.

Cup standings

Since 2000, there have been some changes in the Cup standings system. Initially, all races were equivalent Grand Prix. As of 2001, three classes were formed, depending on how viewed the continental competition and was the world. As of 2003, the class Grand Prix was no longer used; his place was the class top class. In 2006, a team run was in Basel, instead of the mass start race, first held. It is the fastest time to run for three to four women and three to five men over 25 km, in this case the time of the third runner is crucial. As of 2007, some top -class races were upgraded ( maximum of three), in which more prize money and points were distributed for the overall standings. These races do not carry separate specification ( for identification are in the article with top -class (200 ) refers ).

Season 2009: Scoring is rigid, and there are three levels to the valence of the race. Depending on the value 60, 125 and 200 points will be awarded. Points are awarded only for WIC team skaters (WIC license).
