World Marathon Cup

The IAAF World Cup marathon was aligned by the IAAF Marathon, which took place from 1985 to 1995 in odd years as an individual and as a team competition and after that was until 2011 part of the IAAF World Championships.

History

The most successful German athlete was Katrin Dorre, which took 1985 gold and 1987 bronze and with the team of the GDR 1985 Bronze (together with Birgit Weinhold at number 19 and Gabriele Martins at number 22) and 1987 silver (along with Uta Pippig at number 8 and Annette Fincke ranked 11th ) won. 1989 Uta Pippig won bronze in the individual standings.

In 1997, the Cup was integrated into the marathon of the World Championships in Athletics and played as a team competition. 2012, the IAAF decided to no longer carry the Cup.
