World Recreational Scuba Training Council

The World Recreational Scuba Training Council ( WRSTC, German Worldwide recreational scuba diving training organization ) was founded in 1999 to offer global minimum standards for dive training of the various dive associations, certifications ( certifications ) to set. The WRSTC limited its members to national or regional associations. These consist of individual training organizations, which together represent at least 50% of annual diving certifications in the country or region of the members. A national or regional organization shall be deemed a RSTC ( Recreational Scuba Training Council, recreational scuba diving training organization ) called; there are four Recreational Scuba Training Council, including the regional association RSTC Europe and the three national associations RSTC United States, Canada and RSTC C -Card Council ( RSTC Japan).

The most important training organizations that are not connected to the WRSTC as members of the regional RSTCs are Confédération Mondiale of Activités Subaquatiques ( CMAS ), National Association of Underwater Instructors ( NAUI ), British Sub - Aqua Club ( BSAC ), and International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers ( IANTD ).

United States RSTC

To regulate on the basis of previous experiments within the USA, various aspects of scuba diving through legislative measures, the U.S. RSTC was founded in 1986 for permanent coordination of U.S. diving sports training organizations. 1991 replaced the U.S. RSTC the Association Diving Equipment Manufacturers Association ( DEMA Diving Equipment Manufacturers Association ) as the secretariat for the ANSI Commitee for Underwater Safety (also Z86 Committee, ANSI committee for underwater security). The Z86 Committee was gradually replaced by the Committee for Diving Instructional Standards and Safety (also Z375 committee, Committee for diving training standards and safety). 2007 appointed the Committee for the ANSI Diving Instructional Standards and Safety as RSTC ASC Z375 to the ANSI Accredited Standards Developer (ASD, ANSI accredited standards developer ).

The U.S. RSTC was - together with the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society ( UHMS, Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society ) - responsible for the development of fixed diving fitness certificates and minimum standards for the Tauchausbilung or Sporttauchbrevets as Open Water Diver, Entry level Rescue Diver, Dive Supervisor, Assistant Instructor, Scuba Instructor Scuba Instructor and coach, as well as technical certifications as such. for diving with Nitrox and standards for diving sign
