World Triathlon Corporation

The World Triathlon Corporation (WTC ) is a triathlon association hosting world different triathlon events and licensed, in particular under the trademark Ironman. The WTC is based in Tarpon Springs (Florida ) and is part of the investment company Providence Equity Partners.

Ironman

The WTC owns the Ironman brand, which it had acquired for $ 200,000. They licensed worldwide triathlon competitions over different lengths under the umbrella brand Ironman. The most famous race is the Ironman Hawaii.

In early 2009, the WTC also purchased the rights to the North American race over the Ironman distance from the former licensee North American Sports (NA Sports) and thus took over the organization of the Ironman Arizona, Ironman Florida ( also on the half-distance Ironman 70.3 ), Ironman Coeur d' Alene, Ironman USA and Ironman Wisconsin.

IronKids

Since 2010 is also carried out a race series for children and adolescents aged 6 to 15 years from the WTC in the United States.

2011 25 Ironkids races will take place between April and September.
