Worship Music is the 14th studio album by the American heavy metal band Anthrax. It was released on 13 September 2011. First time since Persistence of Time ( 1990) is again to hear Joey Belladonna Anthrax on a studio album.

History

After the last studio album We've Come for You All ( 2003) and the new recording of old hits as The Greater of Two Evils had bassist Frank Bello 2004 left the band returned in 2005 returned for the reunion with singer Joey Belladonna and lead guitarist Dan Spitz. In early 2007 broke the reunion lineup, John Bush also did not want to return as a singer. Short term was Corey Taylor of Slipknot in conversation, but had no time. The end of 2007 obliged the band with Dan Nelson a hitherto little-known singer and also played with guitarist Rob Caggiano again. During this time, Worship Music was recorded with Nelson on vocals. His release had been planned for 2009. Under no circumstances fully explained by separation of Nelson. John Bush took over the microphone, but did not want to sing for previously recorded material. After the band had received confirmation of the place The- Big 4 Festival, she decided Belladonna again to get involved. " Fight ' Em' Til You Can not " was already published in advance on 24 June 2011 as the first single.

Criticism and success

On the website Blabbermouth.net the album was rated 8.5 out of 10. The album reached # 12 in the nation's highest chart position since Sound of White Noise 1993 ( 7th place), in Germany with 13th place even the highest ever, before State of Euphoria (1988, No. 15 ).
