Worth County (Missouri)

The Worth County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. In 2010, the County had 2171 inhabitants and a population density of 3.1 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Grant City, which was named after President Ulysses S. Grant.

Geography

The County is located in northwestern Missouri, bordered to the north Iowa and has an area of 691 square kilometers, of which 1 square kilometers of water surface. At the Worth County borders the following Nachbarcountys:

History

The Worth County was formed in 1861. It was named after William J. Worth (1794-1849) a general in the Mexican-American War.
