Wouter Hamel

Wouter Hamel ( born May 19, 1977 in The Hague) is a Dutch jazz singer.

Biography

Hamel went to the study of popular music and singing at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht, where he graduated in 2001. In 2005 he won the Dutch Jazz Vocalists Concours and has since appeared in various Dutch TV programs. In 2007 he signed with the label Dox Records and produced together with Benny Sings his debut album Hamel, which in the Netherlands won several awards.

End of 2007, the album was released in Japan and Wouter Hamel toured with his band in Japan. In February 2008, the album was awarded a gold record, at the same time the album was released in Korea. Also in 2008, Wouter Hamel graduated two club tours and played as support for Doe Maar at the Feyenoord Stadium in Rotterdam.

In 2009 the second album Nobody's tune was released and received in June also a gold record.
