WOW HD

The business was in February 2000 in the UK under the name CD WOW! started and later spread out to other countries. A page in German language there since April 2003.

The mail order company came in 2003 in the headlines when it of the British music industry ( British Phonographic Industry, BPI) was sued because CDs are sold cheaper by up to 25 %, as it was common practice in the UK. The faulty CDs were indeed legal, but only licensed for sale and distribution in Hong Kong, so the prices for that market were established. The BPI argued that the low prices would harm competition in the UK and the rest of Europe, and sued CD WOW! and its parent company Music Trading On- Line ( HK) Ltd.. citing the English " Copyright, Designs and Patents ' Act of 1988. CD WOW! then decided to increase the prices generally around £ 1 ( about 1.50 € ), and led the process costs as a reason for not wanting to perform the procedure in the High Court of Justice.

According to a report by the BPI in May 2007 the mail order company was ordered to pay a penalty equivalent to 59 million euros due to copyright violations. However, the judgment is not final. According to a report by the British magazine MCV stood CD WOW! into administration by Borelli Walsh. In August 2007, CD WOW! sold to the Australian Internet companies Stomp Entertainment and redesigned its web presence.

End of February 2012 was CD WOW! renamed WOW HD. Owner Elan Media Partners Pty Ltd..
