Wreecher See

The Wreecher Lake is a bay southwest of the city Putbus on the Baltic Sea island of Rügen.

The bay is named after the village located on the eastern shore Wreechen. There are the settlements Glowitz and Neukamp on the south side.

Reported as a nature reserve waters has an area of ​​77 hectares and is part of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve.

Within the reserve, it is part of the protection zone II ( buffer zone ). The Wreecher lake is a tributary waters of the eastern rügischen Bodden in the passes of the lake. A wide reed and reed belts surrounding the lake, which is used for many bird species as breeding, resting and year, also as a wintering area.

North of the lake there is a Drängewassergebiet with Riedwiesen.
