In various parts of Ireland the Wrenboys celebrate on Boxing Day, here St. Stephen's (December 26 ), Wren (English: Wren ), where the men dress with fanciful straw masks, hats and colored robe and accompanied by Ceilimusikbands through the cities and villages parading. This tradition exists or existed in other parts of the British Isles, particularly in Wales. Presumably, this celebration is of Celtic origin: the Druids studied the flight of the wren, to predict the future. Other sources suggest a Scandinavian influence. Also it is assumed that the origin of this feast in the mummery of the Mummers is from the Middle Ages.

Expiration

The villains are overwhelmed in a wild brawl, interspersed with song and dance, of the saints. Saint George, however, is murdered, but the " The Doctor " brings him with ointment and drug back to life. At the end, the performers hold each other's hands and lead to a marigold rows, Tom Fool Plug and pig's bladder can rain down on those who come to him in the way. The participants of this Christmas spectacle get money and edible slipped.
