WrzÄ…ca, Pomeranian Voivodeship

Wrząca ( German Franzen ) is a village in the northwest of the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community Kobylnica ( Kublitz ) in the powiat Słupski ( Stolp ).

Geographical location

Wrząca is the end point of a road that at Reblino ( Reblin ) along Route 6 ( former German Reich Straße 2, now also European Route 28) Gdańsk (Danzig) - branches Szczecin ( Stettin) between Slupsk and Sławno ( Schlawe ) and runs in a southerly direction. History

Three barrows and an old stone grave evidence of a prehistoric occupation of the site. The first historical news about Franzen, however, dates only from 1409, as is mentioned in a letter of atonement name Curd Manduwel of Vrantzen. Until the 18th century Franzen was a fief of Kleis Tsches. There were two knights seats, because at times appear in the 16th century, the Puttkamer and Krockow on parts of Franzen.
