WS-Addressing

WS-Addressing, the specification of a mechanism, which allows web services to exchange address information. It consists essentially of two parts: a data structure for passing a reference to a Web service endpoint address and a set of properties of messages, the link address information with a particular message. WS -Addressing is part of the so-called WS-* specifications that were developed as a modular extension to SOAP.

WS -Addressing facilitates the use of asynchronous Web service calls by, each SOAP message in its header, additional meta-information about the sender and the receiver of the response as well as the recipient of error messages. This makes it possible to even respond even to a SOAP message when the real message of the transport protocol used no longer exists for a long time. In addition, a "unique ID" and possibly references are transported to previous messages in order to create a conversational context. The respective " Endpoint references" always consist of an XML element
