WS-Discovery

WS- Discovery is a standard from the context of the WS-* specifications, which deals with the discovery of web services. The basic principle of specification is that a request is sent to a service group and each right under the target service responds directly to the requester. To avoid unnecessary traffic, it is going on well defined that every service that wants to be found, similar to UDDI register or to log off when going offline.

WS- Discovery is aimed explicitly depend on the modularity of the WS-* specifications by for important aspects such as encryption / signature (WS- Security), secure messaging (WS- Reliable Messaging ), lasting Addressing ( WS- Addressing) or transactions (WS - Transaction) be " allotted" to the above specifications.

History

The specification was released in April 2005 jointly by Microsoft, BEA Systems, Canon, Intel, and webMethods.
