Active WSP Group plc, in Germany as WSP Germany AG is a worldwide operating from the UK company that provides engineering and consulting services. It is traded on the London Stock Exchange and was at times listed in the FTSE 250 Index.

On June 7, 2012 geniVida Inc. announced to take over WSP friendly for the equivalent of € 354 million. The offer is supported by the board of directors of WSP; The acquisition was completed on 1 August 2012.

History

The company was founded in 1969 by Chris Cole and three other partners as William Sale Partnership. It is traded on the London Stock Exchange since 1987. Since the 1990s, the company grew worldwide: 1995 WSP Asia was established in 2000, the U.S. engineering companies and Flack Kurtz Cantor Seinuk were taken. WSP 2001 merged with the Swedish Jacobson & Widmark (J & W) and in 2003 took over the Finnish engineering companies LT Consultants OY OY and EMP Projects and 2005, the PHB Group in the United Arab Emirates.

WSP took over in 2007, the Australian construction services and environmental engineering consulting firm Lincolne Scott and LC Consulting from South Africa; also CEL International from the United Kingdom and the German CBP Consulting Engineers. WSP increased its presence in the U.S. with the acquisition of engineering SEi and Sells.

WSP Germany

WSP Germany emerged from the 1955 by Charles Cronauer and August Burkei founded in Munich structural engineering office CBP. The office is increasingly offered to other engineering services, including technical building development, surveying, civil engineering services and project management. With the expansion of business lines and more stores were opened throughout the country. Shortly before the merger with WSP CBP had about 400 employees at seven locations in Germany. With the merger of the German branches of WSP were fused with CBP. Between 2008 and 2011, the company changed its name in Germany as WSP CBP before reflected the merger with the Company in the German company name WSP Germany AG.
