Wu Guanzheng

Wu Guanzheng (Chinese吴官正/吴官正, Pinyin Wu Guanzheng; * 1938 ) is a Chinese politician. From 2002 to 2007 he was a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CCP.

Wu Guanzheng earned as mayor of Wuhan a reputation as an economic reformer. During his tenure as party secretary of Shandong Province, he won allegedly by his crackdown on the Falun Gong movement confidence Jiang Zemin. Due to his student days with Hu Jintao at Tsinghua University, he is also seen as a confidant Hu Jintao.

Career

1938 born in Yugan county in Jiangxi Province, Guanzheng occurred in 1962 in the Communist Party of China a. In 1965 he completed his studies at Beijing Tsinghua University in the field of heat treatment provider measurement and automatic control as engineer. From 1968 Guanzheng worked in a chemical plant in Wuhan, Hubei Province. From 1975 Guanzheng was deputy director of the Science and Technology Commission of Wuhan City. In 1982 he was elected as a member of the City Party Committee and in 1983 he became party secretary and mayor of Wuhan. From 1986 he was deputy party secretary, vice governor and governor of Jiangxi. In April 1995 he was party secretary of Jiangxi. From 1997 to 2002 he held the post of Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong.
