Wu Lihong

Wu Lihong (吴立 红, * 1968 in Yixing ) is a Chinese environmental activist. His main field of activity was the environmental issues around the Taihu Lake, the third largest freshwater lake in China upset which in 2007, after several million cities such as Wuxi had no drinking water. In April 2007, Wu Lihong was sentenced to a prison term for his involvement, from which he was discharged in 2010.

Life

Wu Lihong was born in 1968 as the son of a farmer in the town of Yixing, Jiangsu Province. In 1991 he became aware for the first time on the pollution of Taihu Lake.
