Wu wei

The concept of Wu wei (Chinese无为/无为, Pinyin Wuwei or often called Chinese为 无为/为 无为, Pinyin wéi Wuwei called ) comes from Taoism, the first time he is mentioned in the Tao Te Ching. It is defined as non-action in the sense of " abstention from action taken against the natural action ".

Importance

The term Wu Wei justified from the Daoist concept of Dao, the comprehensive origin and mechanism of action that causes the order and change of things, so it would not be wise to intervene in the workings of this principle. The ultimate truth is, according to this doctrine, and one is spontaneously without the spirit of man would engage in it. The return to the origin can only be done when the dualistic thinking is abandoned, and the acts take place naturally and spontaneously.

Wu Wei does not mean that you do not act, but that the actions arise spontaneously in harmony with the Dao and so what is necessary is being done, but not in excess of zeal and blind activism, considered to be obstructive, but easy and effortless. It is a state of inner silence, the right action without effort of will can emerge at the right time.

The Perfect is thought in Daoism as empty, soft and spontaneous and, accordingly, the action should be, ie without the intervention of the dualistic intellect, the situation -adaptive and intuitive. The perfect action intuitively recognizes the best way and it seems pointless to exhaust its energy in fruitless actions for the sake of the plot, but the action should be limited to the appropriate circumstances and means. The best translation of the term Wu Wei would thus be "non- intervention " or " action through non-action ," and it is a kind of creative passivity.

This attitude of the events also letting non-violence and non-resistance arising as a natural consequence.

The term Wu Wei appeared in Chinese philosophy for the first time in the Daodejing and remained a feature of Taoism.

"If you want to travel on the water, a boat is suited as a boat moves on the water in a suitable manner. But if you are going to land, do not you continued with it and will just have anger and achieve nothing as you harm yourself. "

"Never make and yet nothing is left undone. "

" The superior man does it without intention. "

" Without intending nothing remains ungefördert; as we are never in doubt as to what you have to do. "
