Wulferstedt is a town in the Great Rift At the district Borde in Saxony -Anhalt.

Geography

Wulferstedt is located in the eastern part of the Great fracture, 5 km from the Bode. The flat area south of the Great trench rises gradually towards the southwest on the ridge Huy. The area around the Great Trench - formerly an impenetrable swamp - today is a 10 km ² large nature reserve. The town of Oschersleben ( Bode) is 8 km, Halberstadt 20 km away. In the south the district Wulferstedt borders the district of Harz.

The old brick was reported as living space of the former township.

History

The place Wulferstedt appeared 967 the first time in a document. The Wulferstedter St. Martin 's Church was consecrated in 1787. 1480 and 1790 the village was destroyed by fire. The last rebuilding left an almost closed half-timbered houses, which is accessible by a trail for local and architectural history with a focus on timber-framed buildings well for those interested.
