Wulferstedt is a town in the Great Rift At the district Borde in Saxony -Anhalt.

Geography

Wulferstedt is located in the eastern part of the Great fracture, 5 km from the Bode. The flat area south of the Great trench rises gradually towards the southwest on the ridge Huy. The area around the Great Trench - formerly an impenetrable swamp - today is a 10 km ² large nature reserve. The town of Oschersleben ( Bode) is 8 km, Halberstadt 20 km away. In the south the district Wulferstedt borders the district of Harz.

History

The place Wulferstedt appeared 967 the first time in a document. The Wulferstedter St. Martin 's Church was consecrated in 1787. 1480 and 1790 the village was destroyed by fire.
