Wümbach (Ilm)

The stream after leaving the headwaters

The three-kilometer long Wümbach is a left tributary of the river Ilm, Thuringia.

Course

It rises in the Schmidt pond in Eichicht, a pine forest between Ilmenau and the eponymous village Wümbach. In this village, he takes a leading- from left to Bach, then forms the eastern end of the village two fish ponds and flows in a northeasterly direction on a straight line. After 810 m opens another stream from the left in the water, which now forms the three shepherds ponds. Here spanning the 570 m long Wümbachtalbrücke the river valley between the village and Wümbach Gräfinau - Angstedt. The bridge is part of the high speed line Erfurt- level field. The Wümbach flows south of the center of Gräfinau - Angstedt in the Ilm.
