Wuppenau

Wuppenau is a municipality in the district of Rheinfelden wine in the Swiss canton of Thurgau.

Geography

Wuppenau is nestled in rolling hills and has a low population density. Next to the village Wuppenau include many other villages and hamlets to the community: Welfensberg, Holy Cross, Gabris, Upper homes, Leuberg, Hosenruck, Forest Meadow, Grub, Mörenau, Gardens mountain, mountain pastures, Greutensberg, Secki and Remensberg.

Because the viewpoint Nollen, a former Triangulationspunktes with a view of Lake Constance, as well as a wide panorama of the Alps, the community on a certain national tourism. The churches of the Holy Cross and Welfensberg and the Chapel Gärtensberg are also popular for weddings.

History

Previously formed next to the local church Wuppenau also Hosenruck and Holy Cross each have their own local church within the then Munizipalgemeinde Wuppenau. As part of a community reorganization, the three local municipalities were merged in 1971 to today's united community Wuppenau.

Population

Of the total of 1,008 inhabitants (2007 ) 35 residents have foreign citizenship.
