Würenlingen (Swiss German: ʋʏr ˌ ː ə Lin, Lin ʋʏrə ˌ ː ə ) is a municipality in the district of Baden in the canton of Aargau. It is located in the lower Aare Valley between Brugg and Waldshut near the water castle of Switzerland.

Geography

The village is located about two kilometers east of the Aare Aare at the transition from the Surbtal, on the northwest slope of the Jura mountains belonging Siggenbergs. The upper village, the actual core zone, nestled around a rocky spur on which the church and cemetery are located. That means village and the lower village that arose in the 17th century, extending into the plain northwest of the upper village. History

Various grave findings point to a settlement during the Hallstatt period around 2600 years ago.
