Geographical Location

Wurmannsquick lies in the region Landshut amidst typical Lower Bavarian hills about 6 km south of Eggenfelden, 20 km north Altöttings, 25 km north- west of Simbach and 19 km from the district town parish churches. The market Wurmannsquick is located from the nearest station to the regional train route Passau - Mühldorf Eggenfelden directly on the B 20 and 6 km.

The history of the market Wurmannsquick

Although an earlier settlement is suspected in the 10th century, the first documentary evidence dates only from the year 1220. Wurmannsquick that time was in the possession of the Wittelsbach family. In 1365 Wurmannsquick got by Duke Stephen the elders awarded the lower jurisdiction and market rights. The right of the weekly market was the market in 1473 by Duke Ludwig and Duke Albrecht endowed him with two other fairs. The district Hirschhorn was already mentioned in 1165 and was the seat of a Hofmark. Rogglfing was proven to 1190 rule of the Counts of places castle.

On 3 June 1875, the market was burnt down almost completely. However, it was the residents of Wurmannsquick in a very short time in the old size and beauty build the market again. The parish church of St. Andrew was built in 1878-1881 by architect Johann Baptist Schott.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1971, the formerly independent communities Hickerstall and Martin churches were incorporated. On 1 January 1972 were parts of the dissolved municipalities Hirschhorn, Langeneck and Rogglfing added. On May 1, 1978, parts of the former township Lohbruck were incorporated into the market Wurmannsquick.

Culture and sights

  • Redesigned marketplace - a long, but also beautiful, modern marketplace.
  • Neo-Romanic Church of St. Andrew, a bright wall pillar system with brick walls in 1881, renovated in 2002. Their equipment is baroque and modern.
  • Hof-Theater Behind Lumber, a small theater built in a haystack, with forty seats.
