Worm Mountain lies on the so-called plate, a mountain range in the northern Black Forest.

History

Worm mountain was first mentioned in records in 1221 secured, as there was built a chapel. In the following years, the monastery Maulbronn secured dominion over the place. The monastery worm mountain came to the Bavarian- Palatine War of Succession in 1504 to Württemberg. At the end of the 17th century Protestant Waldensians were settled in the village, who had to flee from Italy. Furthermore, the establishment of the district Neubärental 1721 goes to religious refugees back: A from Bärenthal (Hohenzollern) derived theologian who had converted to Protestantism with some families from Catholicism, had to leave his hometown.
